1 day workshop providing an overview of the different types of knots and lines commonly used on fishing vessels. Fantastic opportunity for new fishers or a refresh for others. Lots of hands-on training in this course.

Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words, and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

SVOP

March 25-28, 2024

A customized SVOP course that's both practical and fun and was designed by BC commercial fishermen specifically for commercial fishermen. Navigation, Chartwork, Electronics, Buoyage, Weather and What If’s are all covered to help make for safer wheel turns.

Cost: Aupe-Toq Fisheries will cover the cost to qualified candidates- There is a limit to how many we can fund, so get your application in early. For those funded; 100% attendance required or 50% of the cost will be charged back to the student.
